EAA CHAPTER 1088 Poker Run
19 April 2025
The whole purpose of the Poker Run is to instill a little fun with flying. Prizes for the best and
worst hands will be awarded. In case of ties a flip of the coin will decide the winner.
Planes will depart Gillespie Airport after April’s EAA meeting at TacAero (April 19th, 2025)
at approximately 9:15AM. The first card of five will be drawn at T82 prior to starting your
plane. Other airports where you will be able to select a card to complete your hand of five
cards include: Mason County (T92), Llano (KAQO), and Burnet (KBMQ). Returning to T82
you will draw the fifth and final card to complete your poker hand.
Each contestant will be handed a letter size paper with each Airport identified UNICOM,
ATIS, and Field Elevation. Upon landing at each airport, and shutting down the engines,
each pilot/navigator will proceed to the marked location where they will draw a card from
a deck of 52 cards. That card will be identified as being drawn at that airport. Example: T92: Club -10,
or T92: Diamond-King. Each card must be signed (initialed/stamped) by the local ground
personnel before departing to the next airport. There is a section on the paper to record
each card drawn at each airport. You may fly the airports in any order.
Poker suit hierarchy from lowest to highest is: clubs, diamonds, hearts, and spades
Upon arriving back at T-82 there will be a BBQ feast with cold drinks courtesy of Chapter
1088. Turn in your Poker Hand to the committee and enjoy the food and camaraderie of your
