These inspirational flights are made possible entirely through the generosity and dedication of EAA Chapter 1088 volunteers. Chapter pilots donate the use of their personal aircraft, fuel, and their time to provide these flights free of charge to participating families. 

The experience doesn’t end when the Young Eagles return to the ground. Every child who participates in the Young Eagles program receives a free EAA Student Membership, opening the door to aviation education, resources, and opportunities.

Young Eagles Flight Plan benefits include:

• Free access to Sporty’s Learn to Fly Course — a $299 value

• An introductory flight lesson — approximately a $160 value

• Reimbursement of up to $175 upon successful completion of the FAA Private Pilot Knowledge Exam

• FAA test-preparation materials and high-definition instructional videos

• Access to scholarships, aviation mentors, and additional educational opportunities

These benefits are provided completely free of charge as part of EAA’s mission to grow participation in aviation and inspire the next generation of pilots, mechanics, engineers, air traffic controllers, and other aviation professionals.

Since its launch in 1992, the Young Eagles program has introduced more than 2.5 million young people ages 8 through 17 to the wonder of flight.
