Scholarships
EAA Chapter 1088 supports local aviation scholars through a variety of scholarship programs. Our Scholarships are funded through various fund raising methods such as “Gillespie County Airfield” hat sales, raffles, and donations from members and the local community.
Ray Aviation Scholarship
The EAA Ray Aviation Scholarship is a scholarship program that is funded by the Ray Foundation, managed by EAA, and administered through the EAA Chapter network. Through the generous support of the Ray Foundation,
EAA provides up to $11,000 to deserving youths to help cover their flight training expenses, totaling $1,800,000 in annual scholarship funding.
Each year, our Chapter supports one scholar, between the ages of
16 and 19, in the form of funding and mentorship to help him/her
earn their pilot certificate.
